South Korea Math Academy Hit by Cyberattack, Student Data at Risk

Thinkng Bull, a Seoul-based math academy, disclosed a breach of its exam reservation website on September 17 after an unknown intruder reportedly accessed and likely secured personal registration data (students’ names, schools, grade levels, dates of birth and parents’ phone numbers). The academy suspended the service, alerted authorities and parents, warned of potential phishing and scams, and is awaiting further investigation and potential regulatory action by South Korea’s Personal Information Protection Commission.
