Brunei outlines a multi-agency program to curb online scams and strengthen digital safety, reporting the blocking of 82 fraudulent websites and 557 phone numbers, the re-registration of prepaid SIMs, public awareness efforts with AITI/BDCB/RBPF, workshops and consideration of a Fraud Intelligence Platform, and development of a public portal/app for scam reporting; the update also covers a centralized fact-checking platform, collaboration with Meta to protect children and address harmful content, ongoing blocking of policy-violating sites, challenges posed by VPNs, and engagement with the ITU to enhance child online safety.
