All American CVE Rejects

This article analyzes how frequently CVE records are disputed or rejected by reviewing cvelistV5 history for 2023–2025, finding that rejections are uncommon and largely occur before publication, while most disputed CVEs remain published; 2024 stands out with higher counts, and only a small portion of published, disputed CVEs are later rejected. It advises practitioners to treat disputed CVEs as prompts for closer review rather than dismissal and emphasizes that while CVEs are valuable, they are not a complete representation of an organization’s exposure.
