Hackers are trying to steal Signal users’ backups in new wave of phishing attacks

Hackers are impersonating Signal Support to phish users into sharing their Secure Backups recovery keys, aiming to access and decrypt older chats, photos, and documents; several activists have been targeted, Signal warns it will never ask for registration codes, PINs, or recovery keys, and users are advised to store recovery keys securely.
