AT&T disclosed that cybercriminals accessed and exfiltrated call and text metadata for about 110 million customers (May–Oct 2022) following a compromise of cloud provider Snowflake; investigators attribute the Snowflake intrusion to a financially motivated group identified as UNC5537. Stolen fields include called/texted phone numbers, counts and durations of communications, and in some cases cell site IDs, creating risks of location inference, targeted social-engineering, and use of the data for intelligence or business exploitation.
