US and EU police shut down LeakBase, a site accused of sharing stolen passwords and hacking tools

U.S. and European law enforcement dismantled LeakBase, a large online forum for trading stolen credentials and hacking tools; the seizure preserved the forum database (reported to include hundreds of millions of account credentials, credit card numbers, and banking information), redirected the domain to law-enforcement-controlled nameservers, and involved around 100 enforcement actions and multiple arrests and interviews.
