US charges Russian ‘bulletproof’ web hosts over cyberattacks that netted $62M from cybercrime victims

U.S. prosecutors unsealed charges against three Russians and two web hosts (Media Land and ML.Cloud) accused of operating 'bulletproof' hosting used by ransomware gangs (including LockBit, BlackSuit, Play) and state-backed actors to launch DDoS, phishing, and attacks on critical infrastructure across more than 20 states, yielding roughly $62M; the hosts were previously sanctioned by the U.S. Treasury and the suspects are unlikely to be extradited from Russia.
