Apple says former employee exploited ‘rare’ bug to download confidential files after leaving for OpenAI

Apple has sued OpenAI alleging that a former Apple employee, Chang Liu, exploited a previously unknown authentication zero-day after leaving Apple to access the company's cloud-based network storage and exfiltrate dozens of confidential hardware-related files (engineering presentations, technical specifications and proprietary project data); Apple says it has since fixed the bug and terminated the employee's access and has demanded a jury trial.
