Apex Legends hacker said he hacked tournament games ‘for fun’

During an Apex Legends Global Series match, a hacker calling themselves Destroyer2009 allegedly injected a cheat menu and on-screen messages into two streamers' games midmatch, leading organizers to postpone the tournament. The attacker says the exploit only affected the Apex process and was used to force a patch; EA/Respawn confirmed updates are being deployed and Easy Anti-Cheat said there is no evidence of an RCE in its engine.
