LoanDepot confirmed a January ransomware incident that encrypted data and led to the theft of sensitive personal information for almost 17 million customers — including Social Security numbers, names, dates of birth, addresses, phone numbers, and financial account numbers — causing service outages that prevented customers from accessing accounts or making payments and an estimated $12–17M impact to fiscal Q1; it is unknown if a ransom was paid.
