Hackers are threatening to leak World-Check, a huge sanctions and financial crimes watchlist

A financially motivated hacking group self-identified as GhostR claims to have stolen 5.3 million records from a third party that maintained a copy of the World-Check screening database used for KYC by firms; the exposed data reportedly includes passports, Social Security numbers, bank and crypto account identifiers, and records on sanctioned individuals and PEPs, and the group is threatening to publish the information publicly.
