Evolve Bank says ransomware gang stole personal data on millions of customers

Evolve Bank & Trust disclosed that a February ransomware attack by the LockBit gang led to the exposure and publication of personal data for at least 7.6 million people, including SSNs, bank account numbers, and contact details; the incident affected customers, employees, and fintech partners (Affirm, Mercury, Wise), and Evolve says it identified the intrusion in May and did not pay the ransom while investigation continues.
