Researchers from KU Leuven found that 15 popular dating apps leaked precise location data used by their distance-filter features, enabling a novel "oracle trilateration" technique to pinpoint users (as close as ~2 meters in some apps, ~111 meters in Grindr); vendors were notified and have implemented mitigations such as rounding coordinates and changing geocoding algorithms.
