Spot Technologies, now with $2M, will see AI security tech go into Mexico Walmarts

Spot Technologies, an El Salvador-based AI startup operating in Chile, raised $2M to scale its VisionX platform, which uses deep learning and computer vision to turn existing retail and logistics cameras into systems for behavior analytics and theft detection. With deployments in 450 Walmart locations in Chile and plans for rollout in Mexico, the company is developing VisionX 2.0 to enhance capabilities such as detecting minor and self-checkout theft, violent actions, and analyzing shopping patterns, while exploring broader retail partnerships like Oxxo.
