Ex-NSA hacker and ex-Apple researcher launch startup to protect Apple devices

Two veteran security researchers, Patrick Wardle and Mikhail Sosonkin, have launched DoubleYou, a startup offering modular, licensable defensive components for macOS (and later iOS), including process analysis to block unnotarized code, anomalous DNS monitoring, persistence detection, and behavior-based alerts for crypto miners, ransomware, and camera/microphone access—aiming to strengthen Apple-focused security products while remaining independent of outside funding.
