Booking.com confirms hackers accessed customers’ data

Booking.com notified customers that unauthorized third parties may have accessed booking information—names, email addresses, phone numbers, booking details and any information shared with accommodations—and the company reset reservation PINs after detecting the activity; financial information was reportedly not accessed. Stolen details have been used in follow-on phishing via WhatsApp, and the company did not disclose how many customers were affected.
