US government says it got hacked — again

The Department of Homeland Security is investigating a cyberattack on its Homeland Security Information Network (HSIN) that occurred in late May/early June; DHS says it has isolated affected systems and launched a forensic investigation but has not confirmed what data, if any, was stolen. Though HSIN content is unclassified, officials and lawmakers warn the exposed information is highly sensitive and could risk national security, and the attacker identity and motive remain unknown.
