Comcast says customer data stolen in ransomware attack on debt collection agency

Comcast disclosed that a February 2024 ransomware attack on third-party debt collector FBCS led to the theft of personal data for 237,703 Comcast subscribers—including names, addresses, Social Security numbers, dates of birth, and account IDs—while FBCS reported that over 4 million individuals across its clients were impacted, with other organizations like CF Medical and Truist Bank also confirming exposures.
