US insurance giant Aflac says hackers stole personal and health data of 22.6 million

Aflac disclosed a large data breach affecting roughly 22.65 million people in which attackers exfiltrated sensitive personal and medical information (including Social Security numbers, government IDs, DOBs, addresses, and health insurance data). The company indicated the attackers may be affiliated with a known cyber‑criminal group—likely the Scattered Spider collective—and similar intrusions were reported at other insurers around the same time.
