Indian audio giant boAt says it’s investigating suspected customer data breach

boAt is investigating an alleged March data breach after hackers posted a sample of customer personal data (full names, phone numbers, emails, mailing addresses and order numbers) to a known cybercrime forum and claimed over 7.5 million customers were affected; the sample reviewed by TechCrunch appeared to contain genuine phone numbers and the attacker alleged use of stolen credentials with references to Shopify. boAt has confirmed it is investigating the claims but has not disclosed technical details.
