Israel announces seizure of $1.5M from crypto wallets tied to Iran

Israel’s National Bureau for Counter Terror Financing ordered the seizure of 187 cryptocurrency wallets allegedly linked to Iran’s IRGC, asserting their use in terror-related activity; blockchain firm Elliptic says the addresses have processed about $1.5B in USDT historically but now hold roughly $1.5M and may include service-controlled wallet infrastructure, while the Ministry did not explain its attribution. The report also recalls the Predatory Sparrow hack of Nobitex, which burned about $90M in crypto, and notes prior assessments by Elliptic and TRM Labs that Nobitex facilitated IRGC activity.
