Hackers deface school login pages after claiming another Instructure hack

Instructure's Canvas platform was reportedly breached by the ShinyHunters cybercrime group, which claims to have stolen data from nearly 9,000 schools (allegedly affecting 231 million people). The group later defaced multiple schools' Canvas login pages by injecting an HTML message threatening to publish the stolen data on May 12 unless a settlement is negotiated, indicating active extortion and pressure on the company and its customers.
