Chinese spies are using LinkedIn to lure Westerners into sharing sensitive information

The FBI, MI5 and partner Five Eyes agencies warn that Chinese intelligence services are using fake recruiter accounts on job and recruitment sites (notably LinkedIn) to target Western security-clearance holders, military personnel, journalists, academics and think-tank staff. Operators pose as HR/recruiters representing fictitious companies outside China to cultivate long-term relationships and harvest non-public and combinable unclassified information that could provide strategic advantage to Beijing.
