Google is changing how Chrome detects and warns you about unsafe sites

Google announced a real-time, server-side implementation of Chrome Safe Browsing that sends encrypted hash prefixes of visited URLs via Fastly’s Oblivious HTTP privacy server to check against a rapidly updated blocklist, improving phishing detection by up to 25% while preserving user privacy and reducing client resource use; the update rolls out to desktop and iOS now with Android to follow, and does not include the opt-in Enhanced Protection’s AI-based features.
