Some Kaspersky customers receive surprise forced-update to new antivirus software

Following the U.S. ban on Kaspersky sales, many U.S. customers reported their Kaspersky antivirus was automatically removed and replaced with Pango’s UltraAV/UltraVPN via a software update; while vendors said customers were notified and no action was required, users and a former NSA official criticized the forced migration as risky and lacking explicit consent.
