Discord took no action against server that coordinated costly Mastodon spam attacks

A coordinated spam campaign organized via Discord has been used to target Mastodon and other fediverse instances by distributing bots and tooling through Discord, automating account creation and spam posting; the attacks have caused denial-of-service effects and increased hosting costs for smaller servers, while moderation is hampered by the decentralized nature of the fediverse.
