US government charges operators of crypto mixing service used by North Korea and ransomware gangs

The U.S. Department of Justice announced indictments of three Russian individuals accused of operating cryptocurrency mixers (Bender/Blender.io and Sinbad.io) used to launder proceeds from ransomware, wire fraud, and thefts attributed to North Korean hackers. Two suspects were arrested, one remains at large; the services were seized in an international operation and the charges include money laundering and operating an unlicensed money-transmitting business.
