Korea’s Coupang says data breach exposed nearly 34M customers’ personal information

Coupang disclosed a prolonged data breach impacting roughly 33.7 million South Korean customer accounts, exposing personal information such as names, emails, phone numbers, shipping addresses and parts of order history; payment information and login credentials were reportedly not affected. The company says the unauthorized access started on June 24, 2025 via overseas servers, detected on November 18, and investigators have named a suspected former employee now abroad; authorities and regulators have been notified and external security experts retained.
