Google rolls out automatic passkey syncing via Password Manager

Google is expanding passkey support in Chrome and Google Password Manager, enabling automatic syncing across Windows, macOS, Linux, and Android (with iOS coming and ChromeOS in beta) and adding a PIN/screen-lock recovery factor for secure access. Adoption continues to grow, with the FIDO Alliance noting 53% of people have enabled passkeys and 20% of top sites supporting them, while Google made passkeys the default sign-in in 2023 and recently added support to its Advanced Protection Program.
