Treasury sanctions Iranian hackers tied to critical infrastructure breaches

The U.S. Treasury sanctioned five Iranian nationals accused of running a hacking-for-hire campaign tied to Iran’s intelligence services and the Mabna Institute that stole data from U.S. energy, defense, healthcare, technology, and financial sectors, allegedly exfiltrating over 31 TB of academic and intellectual property and engaging in cryptocurrency theft and intrusions against government offices and critical infrastructure.
