Lawmakers get taste of AI-enabled cyberattacks in China-Taiwan war game

A CSIS-hosted war game for U.S. lawmakers simulated a Taiwan crisis in which China-backed hackers and AI-enabled attacks target ports, railways, airports and other logistics networks that would be critical to U.S. force deployment; the exercise references real concerns about the Volt Typhoon APT, stolen credentials, AI-driven misinformation, and a prompt-injection scenario that could subvert AI safeguards.
