State leaders renew call for cyber grant program’s renewal

State and local officials testified before a House Homeland Security subcommittee urging Congress to reauthorize and consistently fund the State and Local Cybersecurity Grant Program, describing how the program’s $21M to Tennessee and other funding has secured endpoints, trained personnel, and supported managed services and infrastructure; witnesses warned that lapses in funding would force service reductions, threaten jobs, and erode progress, and they recommended multi-year funding, reduced cost-share burdens, and flexibility to purchase services such as MS-ISAC memberships.
