Voting machine researchers say federal work abruptly ended after Trump ally pushed back on their findings

Mojave Research conducted a multi-week technical review of Dominion voting systems used in Puerto Rico’s 2024 election and found at least a dozen high- or critical-severity vulnerabilities (including reused/embedded passwords, disabled firewalls, poor cryptography, and exposed cellular modems); researchers demonstrated five exploit paths but found no evidence votes were altered. The firm prepared a detailed report and sought more time to investigate, but their follow-on government contract was abruptly stopped amid political pressure and accusations, and the findings have not been fully remediated prior to upcoming elections.
