Lawmakers warn that commercially available location and advertising data from U.S. servicemembers' smartphones has been purchased by foreign adversaries to surveil and target personnel in war zones; CENTCOM confirmed multiple threat reports and the letter urges the DoD to disable advertising IDs, block location sharing on government devices, and remove tracking-enabled browsers to mitigate the operational and counterintelligence risk.
