Seeing AI Agents Is Not Enough. Security Teams Must Enforce What They Can Do

This article argues that securing agentic AI requires moving beyond discovery to enforce identity- and intent-based controls across fragmented platforms. It outlines key contextual dimensions—ownership, consumers, identity, intent, access, usage, origin, and lifecycle—warns that static access models are insufficient, and advocates a unified, platform-agnostic control plane that can discover, understand, and enforce rules for AI agents to prevent misuse while enabling adoption.
