Singapore Police Extradites Malaysians Linked to Android Malware Fraud

Singapore police extradited two suspects tied to a Malaysia-linked mobile malware campaign (Operation DISTANTHILL) that distributed malicious Android APKs via phishing to deliver a remote access trojan (RAT) capable of keylogging, screen capture, SMS/OTP interception, geolocation and persistence; the investigation (with HK and Malaysian partners) led to 16 arrests across jurisdictions, seizure of ~$1.33M in assets, and an estimated 4,000 victims whose banking accounts were fraudulently accessed.
