Russian Hacker Dmitry Khoroshev Unmasked as LockBit Ransomware Administrator

The U.K. National Crime Agency and international partners identified and sanctioned Dmitry Yuryevich Khoroshev as the alleged administrator/developer of the LockBit ransomware-as-a-service operation; he faces a multi-count U.S. indictment and travel/asset restrictions while authorities report recovering over 2,500 decryption keys. LockBit is credited with building over 7,000 attacks, targeting an estimated 2,500 victims worldwide and generating more than $500 million in ransoms under a RaaS affiliate model; law enforcement says the group's capacity has been significantly reduced though it has attempted to resurface with fake/old victim postings.
