Researchers at Ledger's Donjon demonstrated a laser fault-injection technique against Tangem hardware wallet cards that disrupts a PIN-reset check, allowing an attacker with the physical card and a specialized (and destructive) lab setup to set a new PIN and empty the wallet. The attack requires cutting the card open and expensive equipment, cannot be performed remotely, and cannot be patched on existing cards; owners of lost or stolen Tangem cards holding significant value are advised to move funds immediately.
