New Intel CPU Vulnerability 'Indirector' Exposes Sensitive Data

Researchers disclosed "Indirector", a new side-channel/speculative-execution attack that reverse-engineers the Indirect Branch Predictor and Branch Target Buffer on modern Intel CPUs to perform high-resolution branch target injections (Spectre v2-style) and leak secrets; they used a custom tool (iBranch Locator) and recommend stronger use of IBPB and BPU hardening, while Intel says existing mitigations (IBRS/eIBRS/BHI) remain effective. The report also references related speculative-leak research on ARM (TikTag) and notes coordinated disclosure to vendors.
