DOJ Slams XCast with $10 Million Fine Over Massive Illegal Robocall Operation

The DOJ reached a settlement with VoIP provider XCast over allegations it facilitated billions of illegal robocalls and telemarketing scams since at least 2018, imposing compliance measures and a suspended $10M civil penalty; the FTC also barred related entities and highlighted misuse of consumer data, impersonation of government agencies, and failures to implement caller authentication and Do Not Call protections.
