Suspected Russian Data-Wiping 'AcidPour' Malware Targeting Linux x86 Devices

A new Linux x86 wiper called AcidPour — a distinct codebase related to the earlier AcidRain family — has been observed in the wild; it targets RAID and UBI storage devices to erase data. SentinelOne and other entities reported detections and notifications to Ukrainian agencies, while researchers warn of concurrent brute-force and account-creation activity used to gain persistent access and deploy various malware strains.
