FBI Distributes 7,000 LockBit Ransomware Decryption Keys to Help Victims

The FBI disclosed possession of more than 7,000 LockBit decryption keys and outreach to victims after international law enforcement actions disrupted LockBit’s infrastructure and identified alleged administrators; however, LockBit activity persists at reduced levels. The report also highlights the rise of other ransomware families and a new Linux variant (TargetCompany/Mallox) that targets VMware ESXi via vulnerable Microsoft SQL servers, using shell scripts for payload delivery and exfiltration to multiple servers.
