This contributed article explains the role of CVSS v4.0 and CVE identifiers in vulnerability prioritization and how security solutions—EDR, NDR, machine learning, and risk-based alerting—can integrate CVSS scores to improve detection, triage, and response; it contrasts signature-based EDR with behavior-focused NDR and advocates using CVSS-driven risk thresholds to optimize resource allocation and incident response.
