DevOps Dilemma: How Can CISOs Regain Control in the Age of Speed?

This contributed article outlines a six-step approach for CISOs to strengthen collaboration with DevOps, IT leadership, and boards—advocating red teaming, vulnerability scanning, tabletop exercises, legal engagement, and partnering with MDR providers to shift from reactive to proactive security. It uses historical breaches (SolarWinds, Colonial Pipeline, Capital One) as examples to illustrate the risks of poor cloud/configuration hygiene and positions MDR as a force-multiplier for in-house security teams.
