Email scammers impersonating the ASD's ACSC

ASD's ACSC warns of cybercriminals impersonating the agency via scam emails, phone calls, and fake endorsements to obtain personal information, money, or to get victims to install malicious software. The advisory explains typical scam characteristics, lists actions ASD will never take (for example requesting passwords, asking for cryptocurrency or gift cards, or preventing you from hanging up), and instructs recipients how to verify legitimacy and report suspicious contacts via 1300 CYBER1 and ScamWatch.
