2022 Recap: 3 Trends of Russian-Speaking Cybercriminals

This report summarizes 2022 trends in the Russian-language cybercrime ecosystem: politicization of forums around the Russia–Ukraine war and emergence of pro-Ukraine/pro-Russia leak platforms; increased trade of legitimate security and pen-testing tools for offensive use; and a substantial expansion of the zero-day market (including high-priced zero-click exploits), alongside continued prominence of ransomware activity.
