Scale Up, Risk Up: DRP Data Reveals Increase in Attack Surface

The GreyMatter DRP analysis finds enterprise external attack surfaces expanded significantly from H2 2024 to H1 2025 — exposed ports rose ~27% (OT ports +35%), exposed access keys doubled, and public-facing vulnerabilities more than doubled (including decades-old critical CVEs with available PoCs). The report highlights persistent risks from typo-squatting, leaked marked documents and credentials, infostealer and sniffer malware markets, and active exploitation (RDP intrusions, PLC targeting), and recommends scanning/patching public assets, securing keys and credentials, segmenting OT, and hardening remote access.
