60 Hurts per Second – How We Got Access to Enough Solar Power to Run the United States

Bitdefender researchers discovered multiple critical vulnerabilities in the Solarman PV monitoring and management platform (and its use by Deye) that coordinates roughly 195 GW — about 20% of global solar production across millions of devices and 2M+ PV plants; if exploited, these flaws could let attackers change inverter and grid-injection settings and potentially cause partial grid outages or blackouts. The issues were disclosed to affected vendors and have been remediated.
