23 Million Paidwork Users Have Their Banking and Personal Data Exposed

A massive data breach at gig-economy platform Paidwork exposed over 23 million users' personal and financial data (nearly 11 GB leaked), including bank account numbers, payout histories, full identities, contact information, device/IP metadata and bcrypt-hashed passwords; records were offered for sale on cybercrime forums and added to Have I Been Pwned. The leak raises high risk of targeted phishing, account takeover and identity theft, especially for users in emerging markets who rely on the platform for income; recommended mitigations include changing passwords, enabling 2FA, monitoring financial accounts and adopting password managers.
