Microsoft published the RemoveMicrosoftCopilotApp policy allowing IT administrators to remove the Windows 11 Copilot app on managed Pro, Enterprise, and Education devices via Group Policy and Policy CSP (Intune/SCCM). Automatic removal is constrained — it only occurs if Microsoft 365 Copilot is installed, the app was not manually installed by the user, and the app has not been used in the past 28 days — and Microsoft advises supplemental controls (PowerShell, MDM profiles) because updates, OEM provisioning, or manual installs may reinstall or bypass the policy.
